Amid alternate bouts of buying and selling in front line stocks, the Sensex has edged up from its early afternoon low now. Realty, capital goods, consumer durables, metal, auto and bank stocks are among the prominent gainers.

Power, oil and PSU sectors witness stock specific action. Pharma and IT stocks remain quite subdued. FMCG stocks continue to trade weak.
At 10,527.36, the Sensex is up with a smart gain of 178.53 points or 1.73% at present. The Nifty has gained 50 points or 1.56% at 3261.05.
Reliance Communications (up 8.8% at Rs 213.40) remains the top gainer in the Sensex. Mahindra & Mahindra has gained 7% at Rs 451. Larsen & Toubro is up with a gain of 6.85% at Rs 766.10. HDFC (5.8%) and DLF (5.25%) are also up with strong gains.
Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel, Hindalco, Reliance Infrastructure, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Tata Motors, ONGC and NTPC are up by 2% - 4.5%. Sterlite Industries, Reliance Industries, Jaiprakash Associates, Tata Power and State Bank of India are up with sharp to moderate gains.
Suzlon Energy is up by a little over 8%. HCL Technologies has gained around 8% at Rs 115.50. Idea Cellular, Punjab National Bank, Reliance Power, Tata Communications, Reliance Capital, Hero Honda, ABB, Cairn India, Nalco and Unitech remain in the positive territory with impressive gains.
Hindustan Unilever, Ranbaxy Laboratories, Wipro, Infosys Technologies, Grasim Industries, ACC, ITC, Cipla, Ambuja Cements, BPCL, Siemens and Power Grid Corporation are down with sharp losses.
