The Nifty closed at 6110.65, down 46.25 points or 0.75%.
Rate sensitive realty, automobile and bank stocks declined.
PSU, power, healthcare, oil, metal and capital goods stocks too mostly ended lower.
FMCG stocks declined as well.
Select IT and consumer durables stocks edged higher.
Midcap and smallcap stocks eased after a subdued spell.
The market breadth was weak.
