Kolhapur (Maharashtra), Feb 11 (IANS) Shiv Sena legislator Rajesh Kshirsagar from this Maharashtra city Monday accepted full responsibility for burning down three toll booths in the district.
Irate Shiv Sainks had late Sunday torched three toll booths of IRB Infrastructure that has taken up several projects to build internal roads within the state.
"Not only Kolhapur, but the feelings of the common people throughout the state are strong. They are being robbed blind by big infrastructure companies under the grab of development," Kshirsagar said.
An angry Kshirsagar said the ruling party is far from addressing the issue and hence people are taking matters into their own hands.
"Shiv Sena accepts full responsibility for the incident and we are adamant that nobody from Kolhapur will pay the toll charges," he said.
Kshirsagar demanded that the state government intervene and address the issue immediately in public interest.
