Speaking to reporters at the inauguration of the new facility, Tim Sarnoff, President of Sony Pictures Imageworks, said: “The Chennai facility will accommodate technology advancements and the growth of our talent base.”

2007 has been a remarkable year for Imageworks. Two of Imageworks’ projects, the all-CG (computer graphics) animated feature, Monster House and Superman Returns were nominated for Oscar awards in the best-animated feature category and outstanding achievement in visual effects category respectively.
