Low cost private carrier SpiceJet Wednesday said it would add nine more aircraft by 2012 to its existing fleet of 19 planes.

'We plan to induct nine more aircraft by 2012,' SpiceJet Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Aggarwal told reporters here on the sidelines of the 2nd International Exhibition and Conference on Civil Aviation, India Aviation 2010, at the Begumpet airport.

SpiceJet to raise up to $75 million

The airline currently has 19 Boeing 737-800 and 737-900ER aircraft and operates 129 flights daily to 18 cities in India.

The airline plans to break even by March-end this year.

Flying higher

'We plan to raise $50 million (Rs.250 crore) to $75 million (Rs.375 crore) in next six months,' Aggarwal said disclosing the company's plan to raise its stake in the market.

The airline currently has a market share of 13 percent in India's aviation market.

On airfares, the airline CEO said they were still evaluating it. 'In case there is (an increase), 10 percent hike would be reasonable in present circumstances,' he said.
