: The government's monthly budget deficit hit an all-time high of $220.9 billion in February.
DEFICIT PACE: The deficit for the first five months of the budget year, which began Oct. 1., totals $651.6 billion, 10.5 percent higher than the same period a year ago.
ANNUAL RECORD: The government is on track to set a new record annual deficit that the administration projects will be $1.56 trillion. Last year's record was $1.4 trillion.
