Sun Pharma Q3 net up 91 pc at Rs 668 cr

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries today said its consolidated net profit rose by 90.86% to Rs 668.30 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2011, over the same period previous fiscal.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 350.15 crore in the corresponding period of previous fiscal, Sun Pharma said in a filing to the BSE.
Net sales of the company rose to Rs 2,145.13 crore in the third quarter, compared to Rs 1,561.68 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
On a standalone basis, the company posted a net profit of Rs 365.23 crore for the quarter as against Rs 342.67 crore in the same period of last year.

Shares of Sun Pharma were quoted at Rs 556.95 on the BSE in late afternoon trade, up 2.89% from its previous close.
