Bangalore, Karnataka, India:The Akshaya Patra Foundation has been named as one of the Top 100 NGOs in the world by The Global Journal in its 2013 edition titled “Top 100 NGOs Annual Ranking”. Akshaya Patra stands at 23rd rank among the 100 top NGOs and stands first in the category of Children and Youth.
For the Annual Ranking this year, The Global Journal considered a pool of approximately 450 NGOs based on three key criteria: impact, innovation and sustainability. Some very well-known and reputed NGOs such as BRAC, Action Aid, MSF, Path, etc share space with Akshaya Patra.

Adding to the glory, for the fourth year in succession, The Akshaya Patra Foundation, has been awarded the Gold Shield for ‘Excellence in Financial Reporting’ by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Akshaya Patra received the award from Honourable Union Minister for Law & Justice, Ashwani Kumar, at a function at Mumbai, held on January 23, 2013. Akshaya Patra was applauded for being the first NGO to adopt International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This recognition continues to reflect Akshaya Patra’s commitment to achieve high standards of excellence and transparency in accounting procedures.
