Datsun, a low cost vehicle manufacturing brand from Nissan has finally launched the Go hatchback with the base variant, D, priced at Rs 3,12,270. The car is available in three trim levels - D, A and T, which constitute the first three letters of Datsun brand name. The company claims that the words also describe its philosophy of Dream, Access and Trust. The mid-level variant A is priced at Rs 3,46,482 while the top-of-the-line variant T is priced at Rs 3,69,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Datsun brand was first introduced in the year 1931 but was later discontinued in 1986. However, seeing the huge potential of the auto market in the emerging countries, such as India, Indonesia and Russia, the CEO of Renault-Nissan alliance, Carlos Ghosn, reintroduced this low cost manufacturing brand in July 2013 at New Delhi. The hatch was unveiled in 2014 at the Delhi Auto Expo where it attracted a huge number of visitors. The car shared the stage with its siblings, the Datsun Go+ MPV and a concept Datsun Redi-Go.
