The Tamil Nadu government is expecting a central policy, which would give a boost to offshore wind energy projects. The state is also looking at various sources for renewable energy. Sudeep Jain, chairman, Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA), said the Ministry of Renewable Energy had set up a committee to examine the potential of offshore wind energy. The committee is expected to submit its report in 45 days. Jain was speaking at REaction, a renewable energy conference organised by TEDA in association with Energy Alternatives India.
