2014 could well go down as the year in which India's smartphone market witnessed a significant change. According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), India has emerged as the fastest-growing smartphone market in Asia, with the current market scenario hinting at 80 million plus shipments in the calendar year 2014.
While some brands such as Nokia disappeared, the year also saw a resurgence of other brands like Motorola and several new entrants.
The intense competition among phone manufacturers ultimately benefitted consumers, as prices tumbled and the specs offered vastly improved.

#10 iPhone 5S
Apple launched the iPhone 5C and unveiled the 5s in the United States at an event on September 10, 2013. Ten days later, on September 20, 2013, the 5s was released in the American market.
The phone made its way to India on November 1.
The stand-out feature of the iPhone 5s was the fingerprint sensor which could be used to unlock the phone and also to to authenticate the purchase of apps and content within apps.
The popularity of the phone also increased when it received a price cut after the iPhone 6 was launched.
