Mumbai, May 6 (IANS) Mumbai will face water cuts for two days starting Monday owing to the repairing of pipelines along the Eastern Express Highway, a civic official said.
"Work is on for joining two major water pipelines along the Eastern Express Highway, owing to which there will be varying levels of water cuts imposed through the city," an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
The pipeline work will be completed by Tuesday evening.
While areas like Nahur, Bhandup, Kanjurmarg, and Vikhroli in central Mumbai will face a 100 percent cut in water supply on Monday and Tuesday, Kurla, Govandi, Chembur, Deonar and Mulund, also in central Mumbai will have to face a 40 percent water cut.
The remaining areas in the city will get 20 percent less water May 7-8.
