Mumbai: United Breweries Holdings posted a net profit of Rs 8.86 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2008, a decrease of nearly 70 per cent as compared to the corresponding period last year. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 29.46 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2007, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total income decreased to Rs 71 crore for the first quarter from Rs 107.97 crore in the year-ago period.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 304.20, up 8.68 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
