he Indian automobile industry has witnessed mixed fortunes in the year 2014. The year began on a great note, with some of fascinating cars and concepts for future launches being showcased at the Auto Expo.
However, sluggish growth has plagued the sector, as customers stayed away from the showrooms. Despite the slowdown, automakers are banking on new launches that they have lined up.
Here is a synopsis of the upcoming new cars and facelifted versions of vehicles that we can expect.
Honda have come up with Mobilio MPV to tap the growing MPV segment. Crafted on Brio's platform, the multi-purpose-vehicle is scheduled to be launched next month.
Following the success of the company's first diesel car in India, the Amaze, the Japanese automaker is in no mood to settle down as Mobilio will be the third diesel model from the automaker following the City.
Mobilio will get the same 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that powers the Amaze and City sedans, returning 98bhp of max power and 200Nm of peak torque. The MPV is based on the company's 'EXCITING H DESIGN' philosophy and will be pitted against Maruti Ertiga, Nissan Evalia and Chevrolet Enjoy in the segment.
It is likely to be priced between Rs 7 lakhs and Rs 9 lakhs.Text
