Invis Multimedia, a city-based digital content creator, will shortly launch a DVD collection on the dances of India.
Labelled `Symphony Celestial', this set of 10 DVDs will be launched in September, said Ajith M.R., Director, Invis Multimedia.
The collection, positioned as an ideal corporate gift, is targeted at corporate clients, he told Business Line. In fact, the September launch of the collection is timed to coincide with the commencement of the festive season in India, he added.
A national promotional campaign to support the launch of the `Symphony Celestial' collection is on the cards, said Ajith. The company is in the process of finalising distribution partnerships across the country, he added. In addition, the collection can also be ordered online at the company's Web site, he said.
While `Symphony Celestial' will initially be available in the DVD format, the company will also retail it in the VCD format, said M.R. Hari, Managing Director, Invis Multimedia. As a promotional initiative, the company is offering the collection at a special price of Rs 2,950 till September 15, he added.
The dance forms featured in the collection are representative of India's diverse cultural traditions as the come from all parts of the country, said Ajith. The dance forms in the collection include, Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Kathak, Yakshagana, Koodiyattom, Manipuri, Mohiniyattom, Kathakali and Satriya.
The company has worked with leading exponents of each dance form on the development of the collection, said Ajith. Each disc features a performance by the artiste, accompanied by English subtitles, he added.
Other multi-media products developed by the company include `Green Symphony' — a CD-ROM on Kerala, `Know your heritage' — a DVD collection on the important performing arts of Kerala and `The Mantra of Niramaya' — a CD-ROM on ayurveda.
