Director Sanjay Ram is back with Sivamayam with Shaam in a new avatar. The actor badly needs a hit after the Thoondil and Inba debacle. The shooting for the film has already commenced.
Shaam plays an action hero and he will be sporting three different looks. As Siva, he will sport a moustache for the first time in his career, the director revealed. Apart from sporting a rugged look with a beard, he is also doing a character with hairstyle similar to Surya in Nanda.
Prakash Raj plays a positive character. “As soon as he heard the story he said yes the same day,” smiles Sanjay Ram. “He liked the story and the role very much.” Sridevika plays the lead opposite Shaam in the role of a village girl while Megha Nair is also a part of the film.
Revealing a few details about the story, Sanjay says, “It is based on real incidents that happened in the last five years, etched on the epic Mahabharatha. Siva is the hero who solves all problems.”
Shot extensively in Chennai and Coimbatore, the film has songs penned by the director himself. SPB has sung a very different song in the film “Shetram idu Kurukshetram..” and took 8 hours for recording against the normal 2 hours. Clearly the film seems to offer much to look forward to and maybe a new lease of life to Shaam.
