Soubin Shahir is regarded as one of the finest actors in Mollywood now, who is equally at ease playing a comedian as in Maheshinte Prathikaram, a villain in his own directorial venture Parava or intense character roles like the ones in Sudani from Nigeria or the recently released Kumbalangi Nights.
In an interview with The Hindu, Soubin has said that playing Saji in Kumbalangi Nights was not easy.
Soubin says that he had put in so much effort to make the character work and it did take a toll on him. “At times I couldn’t talk to anyone even after the shoot was over. After doing an extremely emotional scene at a police station scene, I was so down that on reaching home, my wife wanted to know if I was fine,” says Soubin in the interview.
Soubin is busy doing important characters in Oru Yamandan Premakadha, Trance and Virus now. He has Ambily and Android Kunjappan ver 5.25 in which he is playing the protagonist coming up.
He is also planning to direct his next directorial venture, after the well appreciated Parava.
