The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) is planning a three day event to celebrate 100 Years of Indian Cinema. The celebrations are being planned from Sept 25 to 27 at Chennai. The President of India Pranab Mukherjee and four southern chief ministers are to attend the function.
Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan have been invited for the event which will see a galaxy of southern stars attending the function. C Kalyan, president of SIFCC said "Shah Rukh and Amit ji are on our guest list. We have requested them to lend their support in our celebration. The cream of south Indian megastars will also be participating in the event.”
The 3-day event will bring together all the four south Indian film industries - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam and will be held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium.
While the first day of the event is dedicated to the celebrations of Tamil and Malayalam industries, the second day is dedicated to Telugu and Kannada industries. On the third and final day of event, Kalyan said, "Besides performances from all the four industries, we also plan to release 50 stamps to felicitate famous personalities from each industry."
Music directors Illayaraja or A R Rahman is likely to compose a special song for the event. On Sunday evening Ilayathalapathy Vijay attended the SIFCC planning meeting and gave his best wishes.
