2010: Year of the little film

Udaan,Love Sex Aur Dhokha,Phas Gaye Re Obama,Tere Bin Laden,Road to Sangam

They didn't have heroines celebrating their jawani, fancy locales, big budgets or over-rated stars. What they did have was a great script, great lines and brilliant acting.

As people who have cheered for the little film, we're happy to report that after a good 2008 and a middling 2009, small films have made a big leap forward in 2010.

Our pick of little, brilliant films were barely marketed, and in most cases, never even made it to theatres in many cities.

Yet, some of them outran biggies like Kites and Raavan.

A toast to these gems that made 2010 an unforgettable year at the cinemas and to the magic of brave-new movie-making.
