The world of showbiz, where glamour and talent go hand in hand, has more or less been dominated by talents nurtured with Godfathers or the industry kids and rarely have we seen the non-industry folks having their foothold in the industry. One of the biggest trends that has been followed in Sandalwood in 2013, is the acceptance of fresh talents. Newcomers have made their permanent mark in the industry are here to stay for a long time.

The audiences have managed to take a tour of both big- budget blockbusters and the small- budget entertainers. The biggies of the cine town with no doubt will continue to flourish, but there is a visibility of a dramatic growth in small films. Both big- budget films starring superstars and small films with lesser- known actors have co- existed in the year 2013.

Sandalwood is roaring high with new talents and continues to flood with the new waves. Whilst one side there are the descendants of the mainstream’s actors planning their debut, the other side is welcoming talents who have very less or never been a part of the colourful world.

With the increase in the number of films being made in Sandalwood, there is a constant look out for new faces. Stars like Sathish Neenasam, Shruthi Hariharan, Shwetha Srivatsav, Rakshith Shetty, Dhananjay and many others have managed to impress the audience and the film makers with their performance and have bagged few real good projects.

Neenasam Sathish with his expressions and colloquial Mandya language made an impact on the audience and film makers and now many producers are cashing upon him for their next projects.

Rakshith Shetty’s versatile acting and his dialogue delivery style has been the highlight and the crowd puller for the movies he has acted in. Also getting into direction, Rakshith is slowly gaining his foothold in the industry.

Shwetha Srivatsav though didn’t make much noise from her first movie; she hit the bull’s eye for her second movie Simpallag Ondh Love story and also made it to the judge’s seat of a Kannada reality show.

Shruthi Hariharan who caught the right fish from her first movie Lucia, is already finishing her second project with a hit director and has been registered in the viewer’s mind. She’s here to flourish.

Dhananjay who debuted in director Guruprasad’s Director’s Special, is the answer for the right talent. Industry insiders feel that the engineer turned actor will prove to be a serious competition to the bigwigs of the industry.
