‘24’ fares well at the domestic box office

Suriya’s ‘24’ has taken a good opening in Tamil Nadu and Kerala while Tollywood numbers are phenomenal.

In Tamil Nadu, the film has approximately grossed Rs 17 cr in the opening weekend and in Kerala, trade sources have revealed that the three days gross is around 5cr.

For a dubbed film, ‘24’ is doing extremely well in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana as it has grossed 17 cr from itsTelugu version. It is the biggest opening for a Suriya film. The film’s producers feel that the word of mouth from general audiences is positive and slowly attracting more moviegoers.

In fact, the Sunday collections of ‘24’ in TN are equal to the opening day numbers and the weekday box office performance is crucial for the team. In Tamil Nadu it is doing best in high end multiplexes in 3 C’s – Chennai, Chengalpet and Coimbatore
