It was a hectic day in Kollywood as three movie projects were announced almost around the same time on Friday (May 1).
KRG Movies International launched Guru En Aalu with a puja and shooting of the film. At the small function producer KRG, lead actor Madhavan, co-stars Abbas and Mamta Mohandas and Selva the director of the film were present. Actor Jeevan was also spotted at the event. The film is a remake of that Sharukh Khan romantic comedy Yes Boss Madhavan revealed “Abbas, Vivek and myself will be acting together after a long time and I think its going to be a laugh riot on the sets.”
At another function at AVM’s Rajini Pillaiyaaru Kovil, Janaseva Films launched Naalai Namadey. The film is directed by Vinayan and produced by Jose Maveli. The film seeks to show the plight of orphans in the world in a different way. The launch was attended by several orphan children along with actors Parthiban and Murli.
At, The Park, Vikram Bhatt’s ASA Productions Enterprises Pvt Ltd teamed up with Vision Jeeva Studios to launch Muthirai. The film is Vikram Bhatt’s foray into the South and marks the debut of actor Srinath as director. The highlight of the film is its young team consisting of director Srinath, cinematographer Salim ( former assistant to Jeeva), musician Yuvan Shankar Raja and lead actors Daniel Balaji, Lakshmi Rai and Manjiri (from Bollywood).
Aneez Tanvir, wife of the late cinematographer turned director is entering into production and will soon be directing a film as well. Actor Vikram got very emotional during his speech as he remembered his good friend and associate Jeeva. He was sure that his wife would carry his vision forward.
He said that Jeeva was a family friend and he was convinced that the entire team handpicked by Aneez, was committed to the cause of good cinema. Ace cinematographer PC Sreeram, (the guru of Jeeva) spoke highly of Jeeva on the occasion. “He was more than an assistant to me. He was a friend. His loss is a personal blow to me. I am sure Aneez will carry the torch to the next level.”
The film marks the foray of the villain Daniel Balaji into playing a stylish hero and the promo stills looks like a slick Bollywood action thriller .
