For an animated film, ParaNorman is rather odd. Instead of going with the usual themes of talking animals or spunky princesses, this film decided to tell the story of a boy who could see dead people.
Of course, the living would find that quite queer indeed. And so, the boy Norman was treated differently until one day when a witch's curse would awaken ghouls that wouldn't go away. The fate of his town would lie in Norman's hands.
ParaNorman went unnoticed this year, being shadowed by computer animated films like Madagascar 3 and Ice Age 4. Unlike those films, ParaNorman is painstakingly animated using stop motion animation. It's hard to see the difference though. The film looks amazing.
