The next big Malayalam film from new generation directors is 5 Sundarikal, releasing on June 14. It is a Malayalam anthology film consisting of five short films of approximately 30 minutes each, directed by Amal Neerad, Anwar Rasheed, Aashiq Abu, Sameer Thahir and Shyju Khalid team up with five short films.
Each of the five films tell a different story and has various actors and technical crew. In short it looks similar to director Ranjith’s anthology Kerala Cafe, which released some time back.
Amal Neerad’s short film is titled Kullante Bharya and has Dulquer Salmaan and Reenu Mathews. Anwar Rasheeds's film is Aami and has Fahadh Faasil, Honey Rose and Ashmita Sood in the cast.
Aashiq Abu's Gowri has Kavya Madhavan and Biju Menon in the lead. Sameer Thahir's Esha features Nivin Pauly and Isha Sharvani. Shyju Khalid's Sethulakshmi has child artistes Chethan and Anika.
Amal Neerad who is producing 5 Sundarikal said: “We wanted Rajeev Ravi to do a film as well, but he couldn't be part of the project due to previous commitments”.
5 Sundarikal is releasing big in Kerala through Prithviraj’s August Cinema on June 14.
