Vijay’s A.M.Ratnam produced Sivakasi has been censored with ‘U’ certificate and three dialogue cuts and is all set for a sensational opening with 187 prints at the last count.
Meera Jasmine-Prasanna starrer Kastoorimaan has also been cleared with a clean ‘U’ certificate and carries good opinion.Kastoorimaan has managed to get theatres on November 1 and with release with 45 prints.
Vivek’s roaring comedy Anbe Vaa is a new entrant for Diwali. Jayanthi Krishnamoorthy the producer held a press conference and screening of the film at Devi-Sridevi preview theatre on Tuesday evening. She confirmed the release with 35 prints. Leading distributors Essaki films have taken over the marketing and distribution of the film.
Meanwhile the Majaa trailer and the Che Che… Che… song is being appreciated, and the pre-release buzz is encouraging. Producer Rockline Venkatesh has everything working for him and has got more theatres on fancy MG’s.
At the same time, Balu Mahendra- Sai Chidambaram the director and producer of Athu Oru Kana Kalam oneman-upmanship continues. The trade expects the film to make it to the theatres for Diwali.
And the very latest is that Cheran is trying to sort out the Thavamai Thavamirunthai mess as three cases are pending in court. All the parties involve are holding a meeting today morning (Oct 26) and are trying desperately to bring out the film for Diwali.
