Mere Paas Maa Hain would be a line we associate with the likes of Karan Johar or his characters. So, it came as a surprise to see Ram Gopal Varma, normally reticent about his personal life, snapped in a tender moment with his mother. The occassion? The launch of Ram Gopal Varma`s autobiographical work Naa Ishtam in Hyderabad.
Vijayawada Congress MP, Lagadapati Rajagopal, a college friend of RGV, unveiled the book and presented the first copy of the book to RGV`s mother. "His best quality is that he would call spade a spade.... In those days, Sridevi was our heartthrob. It was RGV`s luck that he happened to direct her," the MP said.
And why did Ram Gopal Varma dedicate the book to himself? "Generally, one would give something most important to one whom he likes the most. Similarly, I like myself the most, hence the dedication. I feel jealous of myself. I believe that I will never tell a lie. I also don`t cherish any desire to go to heaven. I am happy that I am enjoying life to the fullest. I hope people would enjoy reading my book and understand me properly, otherwise it would be their fate," said the director.
