The crucial marketing of the film is yet to start, and the release date now more or less depends on it. Also, a Mumbai-based corporate is reportedly interested in buying this action-adventure film directed by Saran - if the price is right.
Meanwhile, it is more or less confirmed that Asal will not release for Pongal 2010. The date that producer Ram Kumar is thinking about is January 26. Remember, a lot of his father`s films, the late thespian Sivaji Ganesan`s work, used to release on Republic day. It used to be Sivaji`s close friend and producer, the late K.Balaji`s lucky release day.
So, for the first time ever Pongal 2010 will not have any superstar releases, though it will be sandwiched between two big releases Ilayathalapathy`s Vettaikaran on December 18 and Thalai`s Asal on January 26.
