One of the most different and warm film events in recent times was Max Pro Entertainers’ Ammavin Kaipesi audio launch. The film is directed by Thangar Bachchan who has also played a key role along with hero Shanthnu and heroine Iniya.
The event was a star studded one and the celeb guests were asked to bring along with mothers as a tribute to the theme of the film which is essentially about the mother son- relationship.
A moving part of the event was when a dozen or so abandoned mothers were called on stage from the NGO’s Anbargam and Maha Illam and told their horror stories of being abandoned by their children, bringing a lump to many a throat.
One of the highlights of the event was the presence of Suhasini and her mother on stage. Said Suhasini, ‘My mom has never attended any film event, not even that of Kamal or me but she is a big fan of Thangar Bachchan’s work and agreed to come just for him.”
The audio was launched in the presence of SRM University head Paarivendhar Pachaimuthu and Tamilaruvi Manian apart from Satyaraj, Bhagyraj, Poornima, Lingusamy, GV Prakash, T Siva, RV Udayakumar, Vasanth and Parthepan to name a few.
Three songs from the film set to music by Mumbai’s Rohit Kulkarni were screened along with an AV which had a short conversation between Thangar Bachchan and his aged mother apart from other mothers who have been abandoned.
GV Prakash was happy to felicitate his friend Rohit Kulkarni who has worked in recordings with him earlier. While one song was a duet featuring Shanthnu and Iniya, the other had Thangar Bachchan’s antics in an ethnic folk gear. The third was a song relating to mothers and their love for their offspring.
Shanthnu recalled how he had lost weight for the role and heroine Iniya who was also present spoke about her experiences during the ten day workshop by the director. National award winning Kishore TE has edited the film.
