This modern model and actress has transformed herself into a rustic Indian beauty for an ad. Anjali Pandey, a model, who has already made a mark in Indian modeling industry, has now become the new face of the Amul Manthan advertisement campaign.
Remember the popular commercial Mero gaam Katha parey... the title song of Smita Patil starrer National Award winning film Manthan, which told the story of Amul model of co-operatives. Now, a decade later, the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) that markets brand Amul, has recreated the magic of Manthan with a new commercial.
Talking about her ad campaign, Anjali says, "I love playing different characters and as part of an Indian characterization, I sat next to the cow and the buffalo and even pretended to be calm and it was extremely challenging to do it. Director Subodh Poddar was extremely patient and the camera work by Binod Pradhan was so fantastic and beautiful. I couldn't believe that I could look so Indian when the ad was launched."
