Gautham Menon has directed the new ad film for brand Mirinda with Asin. The ad is a remix of the popular love triangle of 80’s and 90’s in Tamil cinema.
The concept for this new age interpretation of this cult love triangle was developed & written by Senthil Kumar, National Creative Director - JWT India and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, the king of romance.
Asin spoke exclusively to sify.com: “ It was fun working with Gautham again and that too in an ad format with a fun, interesting concept”.
All three characters in this film are lateral manifestations of the three flavours interpreting the original love triangle in the form of three filmy flavours.
Asin, who has the been the Mirinda brand ambassador for last 7 years essays the role of Sridevi at the epicentre of the love triangle with young handsome look alike of Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth.
The script and storyboard for this remix from 1976 Balachandar classic Moondru Mudichu was blessed by the legendary director before the shoot, with written permission to recreate the cult scene in a contemporary form and the rights for the song were obtained from Saregama Music.
