Attakathi is a realistic, gritty film which is getting ready.
The story is set in North Chennai milieu and is directed by Ranjith, a debutant director who was an assistant to Venkat Prabhu. Dinesh, who acted in Aadukalam and Mounaguru plays the lead role. Swetha plays the heroine along with a bunch of newcomers.
Says the director: People who live in suburbs have their own culture, language and lifestyle. Unlike capturing the conflicts of the youth living in cities and towns, my film portrays the happier side in a realistic manner.
Santhosh Narayan, the music director who had composed tunes for the award-winning Tollywood flick Advaitam has been roped in for Attakathi.
Thirukumaran Entertainments produces the film, which will have its audio launch in January and release in 2012.
