So far, 2009 has been a bad, bad year for entertainment. We've lost several stars from Michael Jackson to DJ Am. But what makes our heart lurch are the celebrity death hoaxes that find their way on to the Internet so easily.
A twitter update, a google status message, a facebook notification. No one knows how these things start. And they're not funny! Most of these hoaxes cropped up in the week the King of Pop died - the same week we lost other stars like Billy Mays, Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon.
The most recent celeb reported dead, but who is still alive, is Jaclyn Smith of Charlie's Angels fame. Well, here's the truth. She's not in Honduras recovering from an unsuccessful suicide attempt. She's at home in Los Angeles and is in as great shape as when she was in her butt-kicking days on screen.
