Celebs at Attukal Pongala

The Attukal Bhagavathy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram is sometimes referred to as women`s Sabarimala. The temple`s name was published in the Guinness book of Records, for being the world`s largest religious union of women. Every year celebs from film industry gather around the temple area and prepare Pongala (Rice cooked with jaggery, ghee, coconut etc.).

Miss World runner-up Parvathi Omanakkutan flew down from Mumbai for the Pongala with her mom. Incidentally her birthday falls on the same day as Attukal Pongala every year and this year, she did the Pongala as a thanksgiving to the deity for blessing her with fame and success.
