Rahma's live performance of 'Mazhai Kuruvi' and 'Bhoomi Bhoomi' was the highlight of the evening. The cast of the film including Simbu, Arvind Swamy, Arun Vijay, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Diana were present, while Prakash Raj, Vijay Sethupathi and Jyotika were missing.
Said Arvind Swami: " I have been associated with Mani Ratnam for eight projects, but I keep thinking about why I was not in the rest of his films.
Lyricist Vairamuthu gave the longest speech and he spoke about his long journey with the director. "This is a symbolic title" and he added that so many things have changed from 1992 to now, but what hasn't changed is Mani's passion for film making and thanked late director K. Balachander for getting them together. Simbu did not speak much and just said a big "Thank You" to his director.
Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, the film is slated for release on September 28.
