Koi Mil Gaya

This is what happens when ET and Rakesh Roshan get together for a script. Ground-breaking in its own right, Rakesh Roshan`s Koi Mil Gaya (2003) was a superhit with the kids and earned quite a few awards for special effects (for the scene in which they got Hrithik to ‘act’).

It starred Preity Zinta as a mentally handicapped Hrithik Roshan`s love interest. The movie follows a plot in which a scientist (Rakesh Roshan) is able to establish contact with extra-terrestrial beings and they, in return, come home for supper. While most of Preity`s screen time was spent convincing Hrithik to stay on the ground, she did however gather critical acclaim for her part and went on to earn a Filmfare nomination.

It`s interesting to note that Aishwarya Rai was offered the role of Nisha initially, but the producers finally settled for Preity. Ash claimed she had enough of ‘sci-fi’ with Devdas.
