It's over. The dream run that Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher had with holy matrimony has come to an ugly conclusion. The actress has finally filed for divorce following allegations of infidelity on Kutcher's part.
When news of Kutcher's fling with Sara Leal made headlines this year, we were heartbroken as well. Demi and him made such a great couple together. They put up goofy pictures of themselves on twitter, shared a great rapport at red carpet events, did a lot of good together with their charitable organisation and were overall picture perfect. But all that came crashing down after six years of marriage.
But Demi wasn't one to rush into divorce when the scandal spread. She took her time. She even went far enough to take time off and look into the crux of the situation. When Ashton was partying solo on their wedding anniversary (September 24), Demi tweeted: When we are offended at any man’s fault, turn to yourself & study your own failings. Then you will forget your anger. Epictetus.
In a way, we're glad she's over that phase now and is set to move on.
“As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life,” Demi said in a statement.
Kutcher tweeted, “I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK.”
