Move over Tom Cruise! The Mission: Impossible star may have bowled over fans at the red carpet premiere of Ghost Protocol in Mumbai. But even he couldn't have brought commuters at the Churchgate station to a stand still.
As Why this kolaveri di blared from the speakers, around 300 dancers started moving to its groovy rhythms. Yes, it was a flash mob that danced to a tune that's become an international sensation. What's more, the mob included singer/actor Dhanush!
After the fantastic performance, Dhanush said, “I’m overwhelmed by the response, and by the power of people coming together to sing the song. I first experienced stardom eight years ago when I made it big in Tamil films. I am living it all over again in this second innings. It truly feels wonderful.”
Dhanush has been making his presence felt in Mumbai increasingly. He was present at the MI4 red carpet premiere, and was recently spotted at the BIG Star Entertainment Awards as well. We also hear that he's set to direct a Hindi movie. With the kolaveri breakthrough, he's become instantly recognisable. He probably didn't plan the stupendous success of his song, but it certainly has smoothed the road for him in Bollywood.
Keep that Kolaveri, Dhanush. You're certainly going places!
