At the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards, the red carpet sizzled as many of television's biggest stars arrived in bright hues - from reds and blues to purples and yellows. But there were also a few who played it safe under the hot Los Angeles sun. We take a look at some of the showstoppers.

Blake Lively

The Gossip Girl was smokin' in her red-hot Versace gown - with a plunging V-neck and slit down the middle - Christian Louboutin pumps and Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. Lively beat the heat (and damp locks) by pulling back her long locks in a braid.
