The red carpets are being unrolled for the new year's new series of shows, events and awards. Kick-starting things was the Police Umang Show 2013, which is organised annually to felicitate the Mumbai police for their hard work.
And the stars put aside all their weekend plans to turn up and enjoy the show.
We spotted blushing bride Vidya Balan in a blush pink half-and-half Sabyasachi sari, matching her sindoor to her bright rep lippy.
Also in Sabyasachi was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who looked lovely in a red net anarkali.
Birthday girl Deepika Padukone shunned bright, happy colours and went sombre yet elegant in a black Sabyasachi sari.
While Lara Dutta, Sonali Bendre and Tabu dressed more for comfort, Sridevi made up for their lack of sparkle with her Manish Malhotra sari.
The new ambassador of Riteish Deshmukh's celebrity cricket team, Genelia D'Souza, dazzled in a purple Rohit Bal anarkali that threatened to overwhelm her petite fame. But surprisingly she still managed to carry off!
As for the men, most favoured charcoal suits and dark blazers, but Shahid Kapoor brought in some colour with his burnished gold shirt.
Kunal Kapoor kept things comfy in a leather jacket, while Salman just refused to be parted from his Being Human tee.
