It took time for this writer-director to find his feet. There was a time when he studied Zoology and got involved in street plays. When he entered Bollywood with Satya, the path was not easy. His films - Paanch and Black Friday - were stuck. He had to be hospitalized for depression.

Having interviewed him in the past, this writer noticed a remarkable change in Kashyap's demeanor. Always a great interviewee - witty and uninhibited - Kashyap now seemed to carry a different kind of burden. With multiple films in hand, some as a producer (much against his wishes); he now talks about of the weight of success.
