IIFA: Bollywood takes off for Canada!
It's IIFA season again and this year Bollywood's migrating to a land where people are 'nice' and it's snowing even at one in the afternoon. Welcome to Toronto, Canada's largest urban wonder and rated as one of the world's most livable cities. This town of over 8.1 million residents is now all set to host the International Indian Film Academy awards on June 25 - an event which showcases the latest Bollywood trends and hours and hours of Amitabh Bachchan's dancing.

This year the show sold 17,000 tickets and organisers are even warning fans about fake tickets that are reportedly doing the rounds.

IIFA spokesperson Noreen Khan said the organisers would honour only 'those tickets that are sold through them and the original type, and so we would hope that anyone who obtains tickets in any other manner is just very vigilant about knowing the source of them and what they are and where they're coming from'.

Well said Ms Khan.

And also continuing its fight against global warming is the famous IIFA 'Green Carpet', which was laid out at Toronto's Pearson International Airport for celebrity arrivals. Screaming fans greeted the first batch even as organisers quickly whisked them away.

Anil Kapoor, wearing a spiked-up hairstyle and dark sunglasses, said: "I am just going to have a good time. I am looking forward to every moment.''

The Slumdog Millionaire actor, who was in the city in January with Preity Zinta to formally announce the hosting of IIFA Awards in Toronto, said the Bollywood show would spell 'happiness, colour and a lot of fun' for audiences - of course.

Zayed Khan was elated despite the 14-hour flight screaming out that 'he couldn't wait to explore the city'.

We now bring you images from the batch that's still waiting to fly out of India and unless Iceland decides to have a new active volcano, it looks like all's well for IIFA this year.
