A lot of people are cashing in on their personalities, their fake smiles. I donÃÂt believe in doing any of that. I want to win people over with my singing. IÃÂve prepared a lot for the galas and I want to prove that I am a performer.
I want to change completely
When they gave me my haircut, it took just 15 minutes! I was like ÃÂwhy donÃÂt you experiment moreÃÂ. But then I realised that they had given me a more modern look. I feel good and people have told me that I look much younger.
I`m also trying to change my attitude and my personality. In Kolhapur, we are taught about namrata, but here I find you need attitude. I used to be scared that it would come across as over confidence. But now IÃÂve realised that it merely reflects confidence. As a singer, too, I`m trying to bring a certain kind of attitude to my voice--IÃÂm trying to bring a heroic quality into my singing, a throw like Abhijeet Bhatacharya and other singers.
I may be a recognised face, but I am still the same person
When we went to watch Dostana, people approached me to praise my singing, while the others were being praised on good looks or smiles. I havenÃÂt changed because this recognition because IÃÂve got to this stage after a lot of struggle. I just feel that I am on the right path now.
