The film has Prithviraj, Thilakan, Rimma Kallingal in the lead along with Innocent, Nedumudi, Jagathy and Shwetha Menon in supporting cast.
Earlier Ranjith had made the critically acclaimed hit Pranchiyettan and the Saint where the theme was: Money cannot buy you happiness or recognition in society.
In Indian Rupee he talks about a young man who considers money as everything in his life.
The entire talkie portion of the film has been shot in and around Kozhikode. Now Ranjith has started the song shoot for the film on Rimma Kallingal in Gundalpet among sunflowers, marigold and greenery.
It has music by debutant Shahabaz Aman.
