Karunanidhi is back with Nee Indri Naan Illai

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has written the story, screenplay and dialogues of Nee Indri Naan Illai (based on his novel Suruli Malai). The film, which has Uday Kiran and Meera Jasmine in the lead, is being directed by Ilavenil and produced by Jeyamurugan and Murugesan.

At the pooja held at AVM studio on June 28, Karunanidhi made it clear that the Entertainment Tax (ET) waiver that had been brought by his regime will continue.

"There was a lot of pressure from the cash-strapped local bodies for re-imposing ET but, taking into consideration many things including my commitment to the industry, we are not going to do it," he said.

The Chief Minister also said that the remuneration he will receive from the film will be given to the cause of senior and needy artists. Kalaingar once again proved that he is the real hero.

Among those present at the pooja were MP Kanimozhi, Kamal Hassan, Suriya, Vivek, Manorama, AVM Saravanan, music director Deva, TFPC Ramanarayanan and FEFSI president VC Guhanathan.
