This year’s Marrakech Film Festival pays homage to Indian Cinema. The venue that hosted the opening gala was the Taj Palace Marrakech. It made for a dramatic backdrop as the who's who of Indian cinema walked the red carpet.
The evening was clearly King Khan's. He was a hit with the hundreds of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of Bollywood. What's more, he was conferred Morocco's prestigious Medal of Honour. To top it off, he had dinner with gorgeous Monica Belluci and even had her blush!
Big B too, had his share in the spotlight. The megastar was a dapper as always in a burgundy & black ensemble.
The flashlights were in for an uninterrupted session when Hrithik Roshan and wife Suzanne arrived. The former in a smashing tuxedo and the latter in a lovely pale pink anarkali, were hands down the most good-looking couple at the fest.
Coming a close second were the supermodel duo Arjun Rampal and wife Mehr Jesia.
Bringing a taste of versatile Indian fashion sensibilities was the talented Kalki Koechlin and director Anurag Kashyap.
Adding the oomph to the evening was Malaika Arora Khan in a getup that seemed right out of her item numbers.
But when Sridevi walked on to the red carpet, all eyes were most definitely on her.
Also present at the occasion were Tabu, Sharmila Tagore, Anupama Chopra, Gemma Arterton and Catherine Deneuve.
The 12th edition of the Marrakech Film Festival welcomed the largest Indian delegation ever assembled at an international festival. It will screen a great number of Hindi films between November 30-December 8, 2012 at the open-air screenings on the famous Jemaa El Fna Square, with some of Hindi cinema's biggest stars and filmmakers presenting their films to Moroccan audiences who are huge fans of Bollywood.
