Ravichandaran made a sensational debut as a romantic hero in director Sridhar`s Kadhalikku Neramillai. The film made him a popular youth hero of the roaring 60`s dominated by MGR and Sivaji Ganesan.
Ravichandran did hits like Kumari Penn, Madras to Pondicherry, Naam Moovar, Adhe Kangal and many others. In the 90`s he changed tracks and switched over to character roles in films like Arunachalam and was recently seen as Tamannaah`s dad in Kandein Kadhali.
Ravichandran studied in St Joseph`s college in Tiruchi and grew up in Malaysia where his father worked as a journalist. He is survived by his wife, daughter and two sons; one of them is Hamsvardhan a rising young actor.
Ravichandran will always be remembered for doing different type of roles.
