Traditionally Madras Music Season starts in December. During the season ‘Kutcheris’ (Carnatic music concerts) are performed by highly competent musicians. The idea is to allow aficionados of Carnatic music to appreciate performances by renowned artists, and to bring in new talent.
But this year even Kollywood is getting ready with the biggest ever launch of film audios in the next two weeks. Nearly 15 films will be having their audio launches in the next three weeks.
It will kick start with Mani Ratnam- AR Rahman combo’s eagerly awaited music of Kadal on November 23, which will straight hit the stores. Two days later on November 25, ARR’s nephew GV Prakash’s Pardesi audio where he is teaming with director Bala will be launched at a function in a popular multiplex.
Next day at the same multiplex GNR Kumaravelan directed Haridas which has music by Vijay Antony is being launched. And on November 28 Kamal Haasan’s Viswaroopam audio with music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is likely to hit the stores, though it has been postponed many times in the past.
On December 1 Yuvan Shankar Raja’s much talked about Vasanth directed Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal (MPMK) music is going to be launched. Two days later another GV Prakash first time combo with Bharathiraja Annakodiyum Kodi Veeranyum is also releasing. Same week Yuvan’s Samar music may also hit the music shops.
On December 5 another Vijay Antony film Sneha Britto’s debut film Sattam Oru Iruttarai audio launch will take place in Chennai. The audio will be earlier launched in colleges in two key Tamil Nadu towns prior to the big Chennai launch. The third Vijay Antony album which would be launched is Sundar C’s Madha Gada Raja most likely on December 10.
And on Rajinikanth’s birthday December 12, the Karthi starrer Alex Pandian which has music by Devi Sri Prasad is going to be unveiled in a big way. Meanwhile nearly dozen small films like Naan Rajavaaga Pongiren and others audio launches are being planned around the same time.
