The southern siren, Lakhsmi Rai, recently met James Cameron of Titanic and Avatar 3D fame in Abu Dhabi.
The world's most famous director, James Cameron, was there in the Arabian city to give a lecture on 3D at 2011 Abu Dhabi Media Summit.
Around the same time, top Bollywood director Priyadarshan was shooting for his Malayalam film Arabiyum, Ottakavum, P. Madhavan Nairum (The Arab, The Camel, and P Madhavan Nair) (AOPMN) in Abu Dhabi. The film has Mohanlal, Mukesh and Lakshmi Rai in the lead roles.
Priyadarshan had managed to get an appointment with James Cameron in the evening at his hotel. But Cameron surprised him by turning up at the location of AOPMN in a dessert near Abu Dhabi, to watch him shoot at the location.
It was at this time Lakshmi Rai who was shooting with Mohanlal got an opportunity to meet James Cameron. Speaking from Abu Dhabi, a very excited Lakshmi said: "Imagine meeting James Cameron, said to be the finest creative filmmaker of our times. I told him, I saw Titanic a dozen times and also watched Avatar in 3D at the theatre. He smiled and thanked me."
