The audio launch of the Aadhi- Taapsee starrer Maranthein Manithen was a grand, classy and warm affair at a city hotel on Monday morning.
The event was attended by the entire Manchu clan who was present to encourage Lakshmi Manchu’s first inroads into Kollywood as a producer.
The movie is directed by Kumar Nagendra and is a bilingual called Gundello Godari in Telugu, and is based on the true incident of the floods in AP in 1986.
The film stars Aadhi, Taapsee, Sundeep Kishan and Lakshmi Manchu. The music is by the legendary Ilayaraja who made a rare appearance for his good friend Mohan Babu, the Telugu star who is the proud father of Lakshmi. His sons Vishnu and Manoj Manchu were also present to encourage their sister.
The trailer of the film was shown and even as the songs were launched one by one by Kollywood celebs, Parthepan, Kalaipuli Thanu, Suhasini, Anirudh Ravichander, Dhanush, G Dhananjayan, Devi Sri Prasad, Mano and others.
The event was filled with warm reminiscing of the Kollywood celebs who traced their close links with the Manchu clan and encouraged the new lady producer and actor in town.
Suhasini was all praise for Lakshmi’s former foray into Hollywood. Ilayaraja was in a good mood as he spoke about his music and recalled the old days spent with his good friends Mohan Babu and Rajnikanth. DSP was specially moved by the occasion and said, “This is the first time I am speaking in front of Raja sir” before he went off stage and touched his fee as did Anirudh Ravichander earlier.
Ilayaraja made the event even more memorable by singing a few lines with only three swaras and enthralled the audience with his innovations yet again.
The film has camerawork by Palani. Among those at the event were AC Shanmugam, Ravi Raja Pinisetty, Vasuki Bhasker, Bhavatharini and others.
