The trailer is very impressive and also shows the trouble the actor had undergone. He also spoke at length about how he shot the underwater scenes and had to spend  a full day with a  leopard for a shot.

Dhanush smiled and said: “It was the toughest terrains I ever shot. In the hot deserts of Namibia, I had to shoot without slippers. The locations of Nagercoil were also physically demanding. But now after seeing them, I feel that all the trouble was worth".

Parvathy who was auditioned for the role said: “ My role as Panimalar is one of the best I have done in recent times.” The actress added that more than anything, she got into the skin of Panimalar with ample support of her director Bharat Bala and co-star Dhanush who she referred as an actor and performer more than a star.

AR Rahman who was cynosure of all eyes waxed eloquent about his friendship with Bharat Bala from his early days and doing ‘Vande Matram’ together. About inviting Yuvan to sing a song, Rahman said: “I have loved the combo of Dhanush, Selvaraghavan and Yuvan Shankar Raja. I had initially sung the track of ‘Kadal Raasa Naan’ but I thought my voice didn't suit the song as it needed a more earthy voice and I felt Yuvan voice will do justice to the song. He came and finished his work fast.”

Bharat Bala said that it was wonderful to work with Dhanush and Parvathy who did complete justice to their respective characters. He also said that the film will be ready after Rahman completes the re-recording for second half and plans to release by end of May.
